Healthy Spaces for Aging in Place and Intergenerational Community: A Holistic Interprofessional Collaboration AOTA INSPIRE

Diana S. Nicholas, Juanjuan “June” He, and others

This presentation focuses on the common goal of assisting those aging in underserved neighborhoods who are struggling to stay in their homes and communities. Our current systems do not approach aging and age-related health issues with a person-centered, holistic approach. As a result, older adults may experience fragmented care, higher costs, and reduced quality of life. Interprofessional collaboration focusing on intergenerational strategies can contribute to the goal of aging in place, and provide students with an opportunity to participate in community-based and team-driven interventions.
